I made a promise to myself after I saw F9/11 that if Bush stole this election that I was going to go march on Washington, DC, on January 20, 2005, four years after Bush was installed into the White House. Since that has unfortunately come true, I am going to do just that.
I have one friend who says she will go and a few others that might go, but I would like to see a major effort to get many more people out on a single day, not just in Washington, but around the world.
I have chosen January 20, 2005 for the fact that it is the fourth anniversary of the protests on is inauguration day, but it will also give people time to do the things they need to do to make sure they can be there. I don’t want to do it on the second anniversary of the start of the Iraq War because that would send a message that this is an anti-war protest. It is NOT just an anti-war protest; it is a protest of EVERYTHING that this administration has done to ruin not only America but the world. We will just have to show the rest of the world that we are so determined that we still go out and protest in record numbers even in freezing temperatures.
For people who might not be able to make it they can march on their state capitol, and for people around the world, they can march on there country's capitol, especially if there country has troops in Iraq.
But, I can't do this alone, my goal is to get at least 250,000 people out on Washington, DC, and DemocraticUnderground.com and MoveOn are the only groups that can organize such an effort.
My primary goal is to get 250,000 people marching on Washington, DC, and my secondary goal is to get 5 million more people to march world wide than the protests on February 15, 2003.
Since we now have a much larger following since then, and since more and more people have become less afraid to voice their opinion since the beginning of the Iraq war, I believe that if we start now, we can pull this off.
