Holding the "endorsers" accountable |
|
One thing I think we need to do is to hold those newspapers who oh-so-reluctantly endorsed Bush accountable.
Many of them said in their endorsements that he MUST move to the Center, he MUST improve domestic programs ... and many other MUSTS and MUSTS NOTS -- all of which he's clearly thrown out the window because he now has "political capital" that he's gonna spend.
I think we have to call the newspapers on this. Every time something like this happens, we have to write LTTE saying -- but you endorsed him. Knowing his record and his history, you endorsed him.... yada yada yada.
Ideas? Agree? Disagree?

1. Agree, but it's not like the papers are going to really care that they |
|
are being held responsible by someone writing a LTTE. Most, if not all, endorsed Bush because he is good for the businesses they are beholden to or owned by, or because he reflects their warped values, not because they think he is actually good for the citizens or the country.

2. Cancel subscriptions and boycott major advertisers |
|
Be sure to let the advertisers know you will be boycotting them and will ask all your friends to boycott, too. Advertisers are the biggest source of revenues for newspapers.
I think I may be shopping charity resale shops first for clothes, just to avoid supporting advertisers.
