4. NO. We should not support ANY republican |
|
They are ALL unindicted co-conspirators, and most especially John McCain. Enablers all.
As to the abortion thing, encourage the fundies to DEMAND Bush deliver on his promises to undo RvW. Pound the drums, ring the bells, write the letters.
This is their issue, and our wedge. Bush CAN'T do it. His own people won't let him AND if they do, and somehow pull it off, the people will toss the GOPukes out en masse in 2006.
Lots of Dems, both here and elsewhere, don't seem to grasp just how thoroughly we've been stomped. The party elders are already lining up to force a "moderate, middle of the road, red-stater" down our throats. If there's any fighting to be done, it has to start here and it has to be done right (no pun).
What we should do? Set up a "Meet-up" for DU'ers all over the nation and get organised around the fight. Leave your egos and pet issues home and figure out how to do the one thing professional politicians fear above all.
Run your own candidates against them, knowing you aren't likely to win, and grind their faces in their own failures. Start setting up to do THAT in 2006 and I guarantee people all over the political spectrum will sit up and pay attention.
But its hard work...

6. I agree. Time to call their bluff on Roe |
|
Apparently they came very close to overturning Roe under Reagan (during his 2nd term) and hurriedly backed away from it.

8. Specter is Our Best Hope for Good Judges |
|
Regardless of his past actions, he is the only person in a position to influence judicial nominations who opposes extremists. He must be given full support as long as he is a moderating influence.

12. I'm just getting used to agreeing with him. |
|
That almost killed me.
Let me work up to "supporting him."
