Technology for next election |
|
Hi,
I'm a software developer and throughout the campaign I've had an interest in developing infrastructure for the party to solve some of the technology problems with the campaign (for the next election).
For example: a beautiful template campaign website for local and state representatives filled with features such as news and issues sections, a "donate now" button, "get involved" signup forms, etc.
For example: A web tool to dynamically parcel out blocks of 10 voter contacts in a given area to facilitate phone banking and letter writing campaigns (ie Clarks "eBlocks")
For example: A database and server to dynamically serve addresses and contacts to GOTV walkers armed with wireless PDA's.
I believe with relatively small investments, these types of problems could be solved the right way, and the investment could be amortized by the entire party so that each campaign and organization would not develop their own bandaid solutions and try to reinvent the wheel.
I'm sure the Democratic armies of supporters' work could be magnified 2-3 fold by the right tools. I heard of a cabal called the Phoenix Group that was charged with financing Democratic media and technology ventures. Does anyone know who I could talk to about designing and developing these kinds of tools?
Thanks, Jason

1. Jason, the most important technology we need for the 2006 election |
|
is a 155-mm howitzer.
We just haul all the BBV machines to Fort Hood, put them in an impact area, and let the redlegs blow the living shit out of them.
Then we go back to paper ballots.
