The Free States Network - a humble proposal |
|
I have come to feel very strongly about spending my $ in ways that support other progressives. Especially since, IMO, WE do most of the spending. In addition, the red states are the recipients of the tax $ of the blue states.
Two friends of mine who are spending considerable $ these days are asking every potential business how they feel about the election - and pro-Republicans need not apply.
I wonder if we progressives couldn't create a network in every state so we could be sure when WE spend OUR dollars on plumbers, house cleaners, repair people, etc we are supporting progressives and not people who vote against our civil rights.
The Evangelical Christians are good about using that Fish symbol so they keep $ in their own community. Why can't we have a symbol - the liberty torch or something - and an organized network of businesses in a database?

4. Maybe just a check box! |
|
I couldn't quite think of the right ulra-simple graphic. A checkmark in a box might do it.

Of course some small businesses, such as the one I work for, rely on both Reps and Dems for their income, and might not be williing to put in a symbol. But then there are others who would be glad. I think a companion website for a list of businesses by state/or region would be good.
