2. Any tips?

My brother's neighrborhood is fighting them right now. It was supposed to be open by this spring, but they haven't even broken ground yet, so they are doing a good job of stalling them. I know they have lawyers on it and all, but is there any advice you would give to an average citizen who wants to keep them away?

stand outside any store in your village, and warn everyone what it means when walmart invades

We stand near a Wal-Mart (usually at a light and we get the stopped cars, any intersection will do) with signs that say "Boycott Wal-Mart: Ask Why." And when they do we hand them a flyer. We just had a protest today where we handed out over 120 flyers in an hour with 6 people, and during rush hour at a good light we can pass out about 100 flyers per 2 people. It seems to work really well and people appreciate the non-aggressiveness of it. (Of course, you can get as aggressive as you want.)
