Green campaigners in 4x4 protest (UK / LandRover)

Two Greenpeace protesters have chained themselves to Land Rovers at a showroom over what they say is environmental damage caused by 4x4 vehicles.

They made their protest on Saturday outside the Evans Halshaw showroom in Solihull, West Midlands. <snip>

Last month Greenpeace activists halted work at Range Rover's Solihull plant.

Greenpeace said its members were carrying out protests on Saturday in Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester and Southampton. <snip>

1. They Don't Have Anything Better To Protest?

I have friends and co-workers who drive 4x4's and SUV's. I frequently get a SUV rental and even rented a 4x4 once when a SUV was not available when I was on vacation.

"Land Rover spokesman Mark Foster said he believed the protests were "misguided and damaging".

I disagree. They are just plain stupid! Perhaps they should just demand the company make 4x4's that get more gas mileage and pollute less while maintaining performance. The problem with this kind of protest is that they seem to be attacking motorists who drive SUV's and 4x4's.
