Big G8 march banned

A G8 PROTEST march close to the Gleneagles summit has been banned by councillors.

G8 Alternatives wanted to stage a 20,000-strong demo beside the A9 dual carriageway near to the hotel.

But licensing chiefs said no yesterday after a top cop warned them it was 'suicidal' to let protesters get that close to speeding traffic. <snip>
