The Alliance is forming... The Democracy Movemnet is rising...
The Democracy Revolution is coming...

"We cannot continue to act the way we have and expect to succeed" (Judy Atler), began a spontaneous conversation circle on the evening after the Election Assessment Hearing in Houston. Bob Fitrakis, David Griscom, Kathy Dopp, Judy Alter Jo Ann Karasek, Bill Moss, etc., etc., agreed w need a national agenda, strategy, and plan. California's plight was an example raised where pooling resources, applying a common strategy, mobilizing and promoting common actions are needed and necessary.

The Alliance is forming... Anti-War groups had a summit in Washington DC in April. Those present agreed their movement should join forces with the Election Reform movement because the state of our elections is a root cause (combined with the MSM Wall of Silence) of the powerlessness of the people.

The Alliance is forming... The glaciers are melting. Our air is killing us. Our soil depleted. Our water poisons our children. The power of government is stripping our planet for corporate profit. Language itself has been cynically perverted with the intent to subvert environmental voices and confuse their message. We the people are powerless to stop the rape of our county and our planet.

The Alliance is forming... Beyond election reform, we are in a struggle for survival. The will of the people has been subverted, manipulated and ignored. The middle class has been robbed, diminished, and is being pushed to the point of extinction. The American dream has become a nightmare.

Our elections are stolen, our Democracy is lost. The Alliance is forming. Spread the word...

When we come together in a Democracy Movement and start the Democracy Revolution, we win. We are the REAL majority. In 2004, 64 million Americans voted with their feet if not their ballots. Spread the word. The REAL majority did not drink the kool-aid. They/we want our country back. We need to inform them/us, mobilize them/us, to demand our country back.

The Democracy Movement is rising. The Democracy Reolution is coming. The Alliance is forming...

2. The biggest question is how to get the kids on board
My 23 year old son says nobody he knows believes in anything. At the same time, he and his friends are getting out of college and finding they have no jobs, or shit jobs. None of them can bear to think about the future, so they just hang out and play video games.

Most of the standard left-wing issues -- the war, the environment, the economy -- are just distant rumors to them. They're lost in their own present situation, and they don't see any way out.

Connect with them -- with that entire generations -- and you may have a mass movement. Fail, and you're still stuck in the same old echo chamber.

3. WE listened to war draft lottery press info, and entertain'g hypocracy
of holy cow * worshipers. ROVE is the loose thread that just may result in the first downfall of their dynasty. THAT will VALIDATE many of the less obvious claims, like chicken-hawks' threat to our liberty. Dirty tricksters, like Tricky Dick in '73, who get their due make a big impact on young and old alike. When the corp. connected who benefit financially (Haliburton-Enron-Boeing) get hit with fraud and other PR fiascos, it places real priorities for our collective conscience. In the words of Charles W. Morgan(pacifica), PERSEVERE!

4. The worst thing these assholes have done is to make kids feel like they
have no future. The whole scene in Washington is so goddamn depressing it's no wonder kids would choose to get drunk or play video games rather than spend time working towards a better future. Who can blame them - there is no "better future" on the horizon and they know it. Not with the shitty leaders we are currently plagued with.

The current batch of leaders have betrayed all the children of earth by allowing corporate criminals to rule the world. This planet is dying and the idiots in Washington could care less as long as they get paid. America is still running on the mentality of - good luck, everyone is on their own. Until we figure out that we are all in this together and start working together, nothing is going to change. Kids aren't stupid. Most of the kids I know don't want anything to do with the miserable bullshit reality the Republicans and Democrats have created. And I can't say I blame them one damn bit.

8. Don't blame the kids they've found ways to survive in Bizarro world
I have 3 young adult children and they and their friends are more aware and connected than the vast majority over 30. Give them something REAL and they respond. Give them a chance to make a real difference and they will. Just do'nt bullshit them with political correctness, wishfull thinking or false promises.

6. At 18 I'd consider myself an angry young Democrat...
that believes in a lot of things. I plan to organize my fellow young Democrats in the fall at the college I will be attending. I think plenty of people my idea hold strong beliefs, be they Democrat or Republican; though many more should care. Of course that generally sums up the entire United States doesn't it?

Those College Republicans have been marching in lockstep for eons and think they're going to rule the world. 'Bout time somebody showed 'em we're mad as hell and not gonna take it anymore.
