Although the story goes deeper than just Rove outing Plame. It goes to the original justification for invading Iraq - that being WMDs

it also goes to the bushies refusal to take responsibility and to hold anyone accountable -- they blamed the lack of WMDs on the CIA

it also goes to credibility, trust, honor and dignity - see bush*'s latest "depends on what the definition of a crime is...."

when the story first broke about the outing and the possibility that a TREASONOUS crime may have been committed - bush said he would fire the leaker, Rove and Libby assured bush* they were not the leakers

today it's looking like bush* is trying to get Rove/Libby and probably others yet to be name - off the hook on a technicality. Maybe outing Plame wasn't a 'crime' - but it was sure as hell a gross lapse of ethics and how much damage to national security was cause is yet to be known.
