Poll question: Support a sick out day of impeach Bush rally in DC?
For those who can't travel to DC for the big Impeach Bush demonstration in September, would you be willing to stay home from work that day?

You don't necessarily have to tell your boss WHY you are doing it, a la the "blue flu" used by cop unions in the past.

This has been used to great effect in other countries and called a general strike.

If the media ignores or underplays the demonstration, it will be harder for people to notice the empty cubicles around them.

3. I do think it's a good idea.
Let's nominate it, and see what other DUers think.

4. i personally plan to be in DC
with my entire family. We need to have a huge showing if this stands a chance of working. We can't afford to go, we can't afford the time away from earning a living, the kids can't afford to miss school.
But we decided that most of all we can't afford to do nothing- there is too much at stake. So we will be there.

By "sick out" or otherwise. Sorry :-(

6. It's a Saturday................
but those of us who can't be there and don't work on Saturdays could join by staying home for the entire day (UNLESS there are local rallies).

You could spend the day watching C-SPAN, read a pro-peace book, write letters and make calls to Washington, gather friends to make up packages for the troops, just buy any supplies in advance.

8. This is as good a reason to
have a blue day as any. Count on me. I'm my own boss anyway.
