Tell the 15 Democrats Who Voted for CAFTA How You Feel
If the DNC wants to pick up votes, they'll pound CAFTA like a drum come the midterm elections. NAFTA drove plenty of Reagan Democrats to fully embrace the Republican Party. CAFTA can be another GOP sore point to dig our thumbs into next year to win some votes in red states that will now bleed out even more jobs to outsourcing.

For more on why CAFTA is wrong:

Here are the complete roll call vote results:

I have been busy making phone calls and sending emails this morning. I hope some of you do, too. Ask whether they intend to vote for Bush's upcoming energy bill too. :nuke:

1. My letter to Vic Synder
Today, you voted for CAFTA, which according to Bush and his friends, will protect our borders. In actuality, you voted for major corporations and against the rights of the workers. Not only did this bill not insure the rights of the workers in Central America, but it effectively decreases the minimium wage here. You voted for outsourcing, sir. Congratulations, the American worker is held down more by the rich, I guess you've forgotten College Station, Arkansas and the "Delta" of Arkansas. They will the strongest hit. In your next election, I will do my best to campaign against you, sir.

4. Rep. Moran
I live "next door" to Moran's district. I let him know that there isn't much point of having a Democrat in office if he behaves like a Republican! So disappointing.

2. Since Vic Snyder isn't my rep., I just fired off a nasty gram to the
Democratic Party of Arkansas. Told them I was closing up my checkbook to them....Sen. Lincoln, Sen. Pryor, and Synder all voted for CAFTA. Told them I would be donating directly to the Democratic Senators and Congressmen that actually fought against the RW extremists in the WH.

3. I can't believe that.. . even Lincoln voted for it.
What are the trying to do? Republican-lite? We care about the worker enough to make sure he does get paid. Fuck'em. It's time we let Dean kick'em out, but only after we win the WH and stuff back.

I called and emailed every single Rep. listed above. You don't have to be from their state.

Besides, not one office asked me where I was from - I was prepared to tell them I had no desire to hear from these DINO bozos anyway.

P.S. Lincoln proudly voted for Bush's Medicare Bill, too. :puke:

8. Can any of these 15 claim that their district will directly benefit?
Out of curiousity, can any of these 15 tell their voters at home that this vote helped them? Was there any direct benefit brought to any of their home districts?

10. quid-pro-quo
So trading favors for favors, but no direct benefit, like being home to a major central-american trading company or something like that.

Ok, thanks.

subject; et tu Brute?

message; Please, stop affiliating yourself with the democratic party. You are not my representative, as I am fortunate enough to live in the state of Mass. You have every right to your political beliefs but please don't pretend to be what you obviously are not. Looking forward to your switching partys asap. Thank you,

12. Agreed!! -- As Soon As I CalM Down

I am too angry for the calls just yet, after speaking to several staffers over the course of the last few months (I haven't been able to speak directly to a rep thus far). I have learned that like anyone else, they tend to be just people.

Even when my message is negative I have had better luck when I was able to be civil and polite, while making sense.
I am just too angry at the moment to be civil enough to even get my message taken down for consideration. I don't want to "just vent"

By tomorrow I hope to be in a more reasonable mood.
The campaign will begin then. Everyone on the list will get a call and a well thought out yet succinct letter.

Is it wrong to contact reps that do not represent my district?
I am going to do it anyway, but does anybody know if there is a correct way to do that?
