H.R. 5 debating now: CALL your Representative re: medical liability
This is a huge giveaway to the insurance companies, HMO and pharmaceutical industry. It limits your ability to recover damages and does little to ease physician malpractice insurance rates (because their is no auditing of insurance company profits)

H.R.5
Title: To improve patient access to health care services and provide improved medical care by reducing the excessive burden the liability system places on the health care delivery system.
Sponsor: Rep Gingrey, Phil (introduced 7/21/2005) Cosponsors (62)
Related Bills: H.RES.385, H.R.534
Latest Major Action: 7/27/2005 Rule H. Res. 385 passed House.

1. Had to stop listening.
The Republicans are such ugly, disgusting, dishonest, weaseling, un-American, citizen-hating reptiles, I couldn't stand to hear their vomitous venom a minute longer. In fact, they're downright eeevviillll. :puke:

2. I called my rep
And, as someone who is well versed in the business of healthcare, I gave the staffer an earful.

4. They've friggin' done it again...
... the title of this bill is: "Help Efficient, Accessible, Low-cost, Timely Healthcare (HEALTH) Act of 2005"

It's a corporate welfare bill and screws with rights to sue, but both the short title and the acronym make it sound like it's great for the public. Sleazy bastards.

And, there are two, count `em, two Democrats co-sponsoring this bill....

*sigh*
