Petition: Not One More Dime

To: United States Congress

Whereas George W. Bush has spent billions of dollars to invade and destroy Iraq, based on a calculated series of lies while neglecting the needs of the American people, we the undersigned urge members of congress to deny him one more dime in pursuit of this horribly flawed "foreign policy".

Instead, we encourage congress to bring our troops home and spend the $87 billion dollars that Bush seeks for Iraq on rebuilding the eroding infrastructure (including power grids) in our own country.

We have a great number of problems here in America that should be addressed, so the $87 mil certainly could be used for improvements. For example, it snows around here and I like the roads plowed so they are passable, I like having power all the time, I appreciate the feds helping sending young people to college so that they may keep the flow of fresh ideas going. There are a lot of other things that money could be used for. Rebuilding Iraq after an illegal war is not one of them.
