Protest Ohio's Defense of Marriage Act
Friday, February 13, 2004, Noon to 1:00 PM. Location: Franklin County Courthouse.
1. Some lesbian and/or gay couples will attempt to obtain marriage licenses at the Franklin County Courthouse
2. Others with appropriate picket signswill protest silently outside the Franklin County Courthouse.

The entire event will occur between noon and 1pm. We will have between 10 to 30 people there.

The key objectives/purposes of this protest are:
1. To stand up for gay human rights and the right to marry
2. To heed the call of the UFMCC (Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches) to annually highlight at Valentine's Day the inability for gay people to marry by trying to secure marriage licenses.
3. To protest the Ohio DOMA law signed into law Feb 6 by Governor Taft
4. To maintain a visible presence to the community on this issue

We want to get as much publicity as possible.

I did get confirmation from Eve Mueller that Channel 10 will be there. I am asking Rev. Creech to contact Channel 4 and 6 to let them know about the protest.

For further information from the press, they may contact Eric Samuels at 614-921-9158 or Rev. Marj Creech at 740-924-5083. Thanks again!
