Come Join An Organization Trying To Make A Difference
Much of the world's population exists in "democracy" where the political systems are controlled by a minority of the population in which the illusion of real and meaningful political voice is embodied in periodic elections which offer the choice of names and faces to positions of authority. Beyond those elections, for most of the populations, political voice is nonexistant. Those in control of the political systems largely advance the causes of the minority at the expense of the majority. We call these political systems representative democracies, or republics.

So too does much of the world's population exist under economic systems which place economic power, wealth, in the hands of the few who dominate the economies and virtually all labor decisions. Economic power is increasingly consolidated into the hands of fewer and fewer people, with the workers left with little or no decisionmaking capabilities in the places they spend a significant amount of time in their lives. Just as in the political system, the few who control the economy advance their own interests at the expense of workers and consumers alike. We call these economic systems capitalist.

Efforts to bring real democracies in the very facets of our lives have primarily been concentrated in a small number of the population, who have been marginalized by both themselves and the politico-economic systems they live in. These efforts have been marginalized by the systems they live in by those who control power who attempt to silence voices of change and keep them ostracized from the rest of the population. In addition, those who are the voices of change have marginalized themselves by failing to develop effective strategies, failing to connect to the rest of the population, and by dedicating their time to sectarian fighting rather than fighting for change.

Our response to this marginalization is the creation of the People's Cyber-Congress. The People's Cyber-Congress (PCC) is an organization of activists dedicated to developing and instituting strategies and methodology to overcome these hurdles, both within those who seek real change and from the systems that wish to stop us. Our dedication is to radical democracy and economic democracy, the principles that decisionmaking power ought to be in the hands of the people themselves, in political, social, and economic environments.
