What's Your Deal?

After many years of laying my fate at the foot of Hollywood talent
scouts I got fed up and taught myself web design and digital video
editing so that I could create my own work on line. The first attempt
was a travel video site The Locals Only Show. Then came a couple short
films and the biggest lie, 9-11.

Since 9-11 I have published video coverage on-line of roughly 15
dissentful gatherings, the Walk for Democracy and 19 events related to
the Dennis Kucinich for President Campaign.

I went to Iowa 10 days before the caucus and had published video of 5
Kucinich events PRIOR to the caucus ... 6 more the week following. My
intent is to offer long form coverage of the type of events that
corporate media manipulate reaction to through the use of sound bites
and to offer it NOW when it could do some good... not to collect footage
that will turn up years from now in a spectacularly sad documentary
about the end of Democracy that will be viewable only through a
clandestine chain of underground house parties that bypass Big Brother
by meeting only in basements with a very few of the closest friends ...
If the truth, peace and justice movements don't reach a wider audience
soon we may be robbed of the tools to reach the critical mass necessary
to insure a future of freedom.

Who Pays For All This?

I do.

I have a couple of very understanding web clients for whom I can work
for from anywhere I'm able to get on-line. It's usually enough to buy
video tape and keep me fed and mobile. If you know anyone with Hepatitis

Aren't you making money from selling things on your "activist" websites?
No. The web hosting bills were deducted from the little that was sold
each month and I have, to date, cashed 1 check from the affiliated items
sold on my Kucinich site. It was for 35 dollars. Not quite enough to
drive to Iowa, buy hard drives, tape and hotel rooms, huh?

Those familiar with me will realize that I will do this with or without
"a net"; with whatever tools are available to me. Financial profit is
not a motivating factor, however sustainability may make me a little
less ... grumpy, a little more healthy.

If you have a pro-union, earth friendly product or other alternative
merchandise that could benefit from advertising to the demographic that
will be watching these videos ... let's talk. During the week of the
Iowa Caucus KucinichWatch.com was averaging 1,000 visitors a day. (no

What would help?

I would certainly be interested in utilizing wi-fi networks to live
webcast from the streets if the technology was available to me.

Currently my video camera is ... not high enough quality to reach the
broadcast and documentary markets.. it's good enough for a web video but
without broadcast quality picture and sound the footage will not be
able to get much off line exposure unless it is highly scandalous.. or
violent. Something like this would ensure that my work retained the
possibility of reaching the widest audience possible.

But What Have You Done For U.S. Lately?

Below are links to my latest Protest coverage. The March 20th "End the
Occupation" Rally in Los Angeles. These videos were edited in 2 days and
posted to numerous independent media websites.

My first objective is to make it possible for a non participant to watch
a video of an event that leaves them with the feeling of being there in
hope that next time they will be. The videos also need to be available
for free online within days to help spread the news while it is timely
and can counter any slanted corporate coverage. Also key, is using
intuition to put the camera in the right place at the right time to
serve and protect U.S. from those who serve and protect U.S..
