Update on bush* visit to Minnesota
http://www.startribune.com/stories/468/4736832.html
Bush plans to visit Monday for a private fund-raiser in Edina and a public speech in Minneapolis.

He will speak at 10:15 a.m. at the American Association of Community Colleges convention at the Minneapolis Convention Center, according to the association's Web site.

Event organizers hope that Bush will speak about a $250 million community-based job training program that he announced in his Jan. 20 State of the Union address.

Norma Kent, an association spokesperson, said the president's appearance will be open only to convention attendants.

After the speech, Bush is expected to attend a luncheon fund-raiser at the Edina home of real-estate developer David Frauenshuh, chief executive officer of the St. Paul-based Frauenshuh Companies.

An ally of U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman, Frauenshuh's company owns several prime properties in downtown St. Paul, including Lawson Commons, the U.S. Trust Center and the Agribank building
The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party also began gearing up for the presidential visit.

DFL Chairman Mike Erlandson said the party intends to hold a news conference to highlight Bush's record on jobs and the economy.

"We're going to point out how the president has produced more red ink and more pink slips than anyone else has done in modern times, practically," he said.
