1. I know it's unlikely, but did you get to speak to Ani Difranco?
I saw her on C-SPAN this afternoon, and she got in a little F-bomb in. :)

I think she's really cool, though I wish she would shave her pits. :)

2. Awesome!!!
Thanks for sharing!

I liked the sticker saying "Against Abortion, Have a Vasectomy".... Appropriate for a bunch of old men who want to interfere in a woman's choice.

3. I liked that sign, but I kinda winced when I saw another...
"Abortion is a basic human right." I absolutely believe in reproductive freedom, but still, I winced a little at that one.

4. Just remember
It's almost always an option of last resort. Abortion is almost never the preferred way for family planning, just a parachute. And as such it is a basic right that does need to be there.

7. Deep down, I really agree
But basic human rights to me are food and shelter and things like that. And our side isn't going to be helped by that kind of slogan. We're just encouraging the people to tolerate more Scalias and Thomases with rhetoric like that. It's kind of like a gay pride parade where the most visible members are the freaky leather guys, who are totally outside the mainstream, gay or otherwise. Just hurts the cause, in my opinion.

9. I can buy that
There is quite a bit of fear that is being manipulated by the RW'ers.

12. I love you madly my friend but for women
the choice to use their body to carry a conception full term for nine months and take all the inherent risks involved is a basic human right. Really.

Great Pics Earl

Thanks for being one of a million!

14. I'm flattered and I really do agree with your main point
I'm for reproductive rights. I disagree with you on the margins. But my main point is one of political strategy. If we insist on absolutism on this issue, we will lose, and we will receive absolutism on the opposite end of the spectrum. We are fighting for a free country, and we are losing. We must bend in the short term, to ensure freedom in the long run. (I'm a little drunk, so I hope that make sense.)

15. No worries...I'm not flaming you, but there isn't anything absolute
in leaving it up to a woman and her physician. They are just as capable of demonstrating conscience as congress is... if not more.

16. absolutely
But have you ever been acquainted with women who were just total whores who used it for birth control? I have. And I disapprove of that. It's not common, but I personally know of at least two women that did that. And I don't like it. And I see a huge difference between the first trimester, when it's just a pile of goo, and the third when it really is a baby that gets killed. I don't claim to be wise, but that's what I think.

BTW, I think we agree more than disagree, no matter what you think. :) Can you meet me in Nashville on May 26? I'd like to meet you in person.

19. I know a woman who's had 5 abortions.
I think she could be a poster-child for the anti-abortion camp. That kind of recklessness makes it harder to argue for keeping it as a right for those of us who are careful and would only use it as a last resort.

21. Personal life style has absolutely nothing to do with the legal rights we
have as individuals to make our own decisions. Whether they are good, bad, wrong, evil, stupid. etc. choices, they should still be ours to make. It's always about personal responsibility and choice.

What a bunch of fucking losers! :grr::nuke:
