nyc plans?

does anyone have a source for nyc protest plans? is it true that nypd and fdny have a rally planned? does anyone know of other events planned? i can be there for a day or 2, but i need ot start making plans.

2. UFP and ANSWER are the two big guys, but...

they can't get permits so far.

The reasons for denying UFP's permit is bullshit, of course, since Central Park has seen heavier action than this. Methinks a few thousand people will show up anyway, since the place is open to the public, after all. The big deal for the permits is having speakers set up, tables, etc.

As we get closer, more plans, official and unofficial, will show up.

Rest assured, though, there will be a lot of protestors there. One way or another. Personally, I would rather it not turn into Chicago '68, but I have no doubt some of the fringe elements are plotting some heavy shit in secret.

Me, I'm thinking of just hanging out in Penn Station with a Kerry button.

it is just outrageous. boy, these guys think any old tissue of lies will suffice.
anyway- the main protest is planned for the sunday, aug 29.
