To be honest with you, I do not know a great deal about the Detroit Urban League. It would be interesting to find that out.
I do know the day B*sh was SUPPOSED to address the NAACP, he was in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan, which is very much a conservative area of my state. I found find out at lunch today, that John Kerry is supposed to be addressing the Detroit Urban League as well, but I have no other specifics on that. Maybe the Det. Urban League, as a general rule, is nonpartisan. :hi:

Hi everyone-
I wanted to get everyone’s opinion on an idea that I have to really harness the “power of the people”
What if hundreds of thousands of people used the same visual voice at protest, at work, during everyday life. Consistent messages from every day citizens (and probably celebrities) day in day out over months and months.
Imagine it spreading world wide. We could just keep talking on news groups or we could quietly build a revolution one person at a time.
To often I have seen masses of people collectively disagree (as in the anti-Bush movement) but not harness that power. While the protest at the RNC is powerful it would be exponentially powerful if they were all saying the same thing.
Many of them will be promoting their own sub-cause and organization and therefore blurring the core message.
Check out www.slandertshirts.com
Slander is a graphic design co that has a proposal for an idea that could visually unify the anti-Bush movement (or any other) and help organizations with much needed funds.
Each T shirts donates to an organization of the buyers choice.
This is not a selfish promotion for Slander, because we truly believe in the power of a unified visual voice. So much so that we have set up this contribution system to really benefit the orgs fighting for this cause.
Again, it is an idea that I would like to get everyone’s opinion on.
Thanks Dave
