1. Funny! But - wouldn't that mean it would get more traffic? |
|
Aren't there more customers walking through that section on a given day?

4. I heard another funny trick on a show over the weekend. |
|
A guy said he went to the book stores and switched the dustcovers between the Unfit for Command books and some other book. Sorry, I don't recall what the other book was, but it was something that nobody would want, like maybe something from the bargain bin.
I don't know how long this one would last because after the first few irate people brought the books back to the store, I'm sure the clerk would check the stock. But it would be really fun for a while.

written by Karen Hughes.
If you want some good laughs, check out the reviews at Amazon.

5. Bookstore hijinx: Fun for you, but... |
|
...the staff (including liberal staff like myself) has to undo all this 'hilarity' during the day and after closing time.
Since I work at a bookstore as a second 'BushCo-mandated' job, having my closing shift extended even later because of this kind of behavior really wears thin after a while.
Also: Putting sex books in the religion section, putting gay and lesbian books in the religion section, putting religious books in the gay and sex sections, might be an inspired bit of hilarity for the general public, but believe me it's all been done before and just pretty much sucks.

7. I'm sorry. Of course you're right about how it affects your job. |
|
I honestly would never have even thought about doing that before I heard this on the radio. Would you consider giving us a week to play our games? After that, I promise I will be the first person to post a "DO NOT" message every day on DU to save your extra work.

8. Wow. My post really turned into a rant, didn't it? |
|
I just re-read it. :eyes:
All that being said, the favorite move of people who don't like a book is to just turn them over so the back cover shows. Here's how smart Bill and Hillary's publisher was: On the back of both of their books there is a photo collage of a dozen or more photos of them and the Clinton family. So when the RW nuts turn over a Clinton book, there's 12 more looking right at them. Hee! :D
