Kucinich campaign plans regular webcasts-
Excerpted from an internal e-mail from Dot Maver-

"There have been so many requests for continued live webcasts that we have decided to do events on a regular basis. Jim Goettler will be the point person at national and we will keep you posted."

They were definitely a hit, increasing volunteer sign-ups, donations and just plain interest in the campaign. Now let's see someone tell me Dot doesn't take advantage of things that work! She's all OVER this one!

2. I stayed out
of the campaign complaining threads yesterday but can you please tell me how to get these e mails? I have signed on as a volunteer 3 or 4 times and written them. They respond that they got my mail and that is the last I hear. I get no mail from national and rely on all of you to post these things. I have been doing this alone out here since October and have made several of my own contacts but I get no response from national. Am I not doing something I need to do? Sorry to hijack, I love this idea and look forward to the webcasts. I never see or hear enough DK.

3. that's weird that you haven't been getting any campaign e-mail
I'm not sure the e-mail here from Dot was a campaign alert but there are quite a number of campaign alert e-mails that you should certainly be getting if you have signed up.

I take it you've been to http://www.kucinich.us/ a signed up for e-mail alerts per right hand side column about 2/3 of the way down.

Its possible your ISP is filtering them as spam. I know my ISP was filtering some campaign e-mails as spam until I affirmatively went to their holding filter and indicated that e-mails from kucinich.us were not spam. If you use a web-based e-mail account like hotmail or yahoo then less likely for ISP to interfere.

In the meantime, why not sign up on one of the many yahoo list serves.
Many campaign dispatches are sent to or forwarded to yahoo groups.

5. Thanks
yes the national site kucinich.us is where I signed up as a volunteer and did sign up for the e mails. My computer is broken so it is possible it filtered it out, this one may not so I will sign up again.

4. Hmmm, that is odd.
Definitely consider goodhue's suggestion if you have a spam filter. I have two different ISP accounts because I can't afford to lose internet access, being a State Coordinator, and I found one of them was filtering anything from Kucinich Campaign as spam, including important stuff from David Swanson and Dot Maver.

Also I'm told some people with AOL as their ISP have had trouble recieving e-mail from an kucinich.us address so you might consider that as well. I'm not a techie, so I'm not sure what causes all these glitches, but I know I've stopped recieving mass mails from the guy who handles our database system and this has just happened in the past few weeks. The last one I got was when there was a staff change, and then nothing, despite him telling us on a conference call that he'd sent another out about two weeks ago.

I would recommend you check with your State Coordinator (or if you don't have one, are the State Coordinator, call National and speak with your State Liason about it) and see if they can get you on a local mailing list. Most of us are forwarding things on to supporters who don't get them from National for whatever reason. I've had calls from folks who haven't bothered to sign up with National and I always recommend that they do so but some opt not to.

Again, if you are the State Coordinator or there doesn't seem to be one, call National, tell them what State you're in, and ask to speak to your State's National Liason. It's probably Catherine Scott or Kimon Kotus (Mine is Kimon), but I think they're bringing in a couple of others, and Kimon expects to be on the road for the next month or so which means he'll have a fill-in at National.

If you're comfortable enough, you can pm or e-mail me with your contact info, and I'll check the database listings to see if you're in there and what your status is.

6. Thanks
I believe we just might have a state coordinator now, we did not for a while. I got a contact name from Amy Kaplan when they stayed with me and I have to get her number. I will try again, as I mentioned in the post above my computer is broken and it is possible that either AOL or my firewall and spam protection was doing that on that computer. I think I should just call them at this point. I will let you know when I get this all done, I was waiting thinking that since we do not have a primary and since we only have 6 electoral votes (I think) that we were way down on the list of priorities and I just hated to keep bothering them when I already had signed up. I will let you know and thank you. I just keep plugging away here, never say die!

8. Don't get discouraged. A vote is a vote, and Dennis is in it for all 50
states and DC, and Puerto Rico, and Guam, and...

And $$ are $$, from wherever. Your $5.00 is worth $10 because of federal matching.

LET'S HEAR IT FOR PEOPLE FROM SMALL STATES!:loveya:

9. Learned something else that might explain
some e-mailing problems-

National HQ has been without internet service for a week now! Their DSL service yanked their phone and DSL when the Congressional staff moved out of the offices after we qualified for Federal funds. They're supposed to be getting service back today and a complaint has been filed with the FCC. Unfortunately it had staff and interns running from the office to their homes or libraries to have access to e-mail.

10. Great!
Another reminder tonight to make sure I check Dennis' site every day for all the new news. What's the first webcast coming up?

11. We haven't heard yet.
ISP problems at Headquarters have thrown things like this off track a little. If I'm not mistaken they got it sorted out today finally so we should hear something soon.
