PA 3rd Congressional District
Anyone out there from the third congressional district of PA (Erie County and surrounding)? I just received a letter from Dr. Steven Porter, democratic candidate to oppose Phil "Jabba" English in the next election. His website www.drstevenporter.com leaves a bit to be desired, but I was wondering if anyone has any inside information on him.

1. I'm afraid I can't add much...
but all I can say is this guy is toast...burnt toast.

First off, anyone would have a difficult time knocking off Phil English who is on several comittees and often wins in landslides.

Secondly, I originally read that he was against gun control in the Bulter Eagle, but after going to his website he seems like one of the biggest gun grabbers I have ever seen. I am sure I do not need to tell you that western PA is deeply pro gun.

The article I read didn't add much to what's on his website, but seeing how the Dems didn't even offer a candidate in this district in 2k2, I think they know Phil won't be easy to take down.

3. But
If a "Green" candidate can get over 20% of the vote, doesn't that mean Fat Phils-his-face-constantly is slipping?

4. All is means is that 20% of the voters would absolutley not vote for him
Last time a Democrat ran against him he got 60% of the vote. The Democrat spent half a million dollars. And that was before the redistricting, when more Republican voters were added to the district.

5. Maybe, but they didn't have another option
I know of people who voted for the Green because there was no Dem running, this artificially inflated the turnout for the Green.
