***Breaking news*** Illinois Senate race. |
|
I have no link--this is reporting from a delegate who was there and voting.
Illinois AFL-CIO endorses Dan Hynes in the Illinois Senate Race. Earlier today, the Illinois AFL-CIO voted strongly to endorse state Comptroller Dan Hynes in the Illinois Dem primary race for the US Senate race.
Mods, you can move this given my lack of a link, but I figured the Illinois Dems would like to know.

1. It's embarrassing. I have no idea who that is and I live here. |
|
Couldn't pick him out of a police line up. Wait. He's not a Republican.

I'm a new Illinois resident. I had heard good things about Obama, but hopefully Hynes is good. Regardless, dems have a good chance in this state to pick up a senate seat.

Either way whoever gets the Dem nomination in IL should be any easy pickup.
Although the worst thing we can do is become complacent.
What I am really glad about is that Jack Ryan's last name is Ryan, otherwise I think he would pose a serious threat.

6. Obama hoped to stop that |
|
Obama thought that he had a good chance of getting enough votes to keep the AFL-CIO from endorsing anyone. I think that Obama is the best candidate, but Hynes is okay. Hynes seems more moderate than Obama but I don't know by how much.

Nancy Skinner? I kept getting emails from her campaign and then nothing. Was she not able to get her name on the ballot? Did she give up her show for nothing. I miss Ski and Skinner on Sunday.

9. Nancy Skinner got fired |
|
I happened to be listening to her announcement on the "Ski and Skinner" show on the WLS, the local Limbaugh affiliate.
I believe she was called in and fired the next day.
Assuming Rush stays out of jail, do you they'd unplug him if he ran for office?
