Americans like Bush's qualities, poll says
Yet Democrats said to have edge on many domestic issues
Wednesday, January 14, 2004 Posted: 10:07 AM EST (1507 GMT)

(CNN) -- Two-thirds of Americans think President Bush has the right personal qualities for the presidency, yet nearly half or more think the Democratic Party would do a better job on major domestic issues, according to a new poll. <snip>

The poll indicated that Bush's favorable standing with most Americans on his personal qualities is a main reason for his job approval rating of 59 percent in the most recent CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll and similar high marks in other polls. <snip>

The poll showed that though most Americans give the edge to the Democratic Party on domestic issues, the Republican Party retains an advantage on security issues and world affairs, and Bush gets credit for that. <snip>

Three-quarters said they think Bush has addressed the fundamental security risks the country faces. <snip>

The poll had a margin of error of plus-or-minus 3 percentage points.

1. Dems win DOMESTIC issues
but lose on foreign policy and defense. The 9 are not on the same side of the war in Iraq issue as the majority of Americans.

6. Majority of Americans?
You must have missed seeing all the huge protests against the war.The majority did NOT support this phony war. Now the truth is coming out about all the lies bu$h and his henchmen told the American people just so he could get his little revenge on Saddam because he "tried to kill his daddy". Take the blinders off, please.

7. A large protest
does not make a majority. Even a relaatively small number of angry people can create a HUGE protest. Even so, let us hope the majority IS on the right side.

4. Poppy didn't start to go down in polls until the "socks" incident and then
Edited on Wed Jan-14-04 12:36 PM by KoKo01
the final dip was when he threw up on the Japanese Head of State. This happened in his last year. And his polls were higher than the Chimps. (I couldn't stand him, but I was one of the few at the time).

Before that no one seemed to find that much wrong with him.

We need to wait a little longer. I think his true personality will be revealed. The political cartoonists all "get it." We just need for it to sink in a little more and then have a couple of incidents which drive home what an idiot he is.

5. I don't buy this bu$hit
bu$h is a moron......a little smirking mental midget who is evil to the core. What's there to "like" about an arrogant, bullying "my way or the highway" who can't string a sentence together without mangling t all to pieces? I don't like his goofy smartass facial expressions and his attitude. He makes me sick...and I KNOW I'm not alone in having these feelings. I despise that blood thirsty SOB. :puke: :argh:
