Edwards Wins Mock Iowa Caucus IN A LANDSLIDE!
Posted by Eric Ohlsen at the Edwards Blog

Today, on CNN’s Inside Politics, they covered a class of seniors in rural Iowa doing a “mock caucus.” Here are a couple snippets from the transcript:

Reporter: The runaway favorite among the young democrats in this rural community, John Edwards. They say he knows where they're coming from. Like with his plan to pay for college.

Student: You have to work ten hours a week your first year in college. And it will help pay for your college.

Reporter: The cost of college is a big concern for these newbie caucus goers.
Unfortunately, a few candidates didn’t do quite so well…

Reporter: …Caucuses, like high school, can be cruel. Forrest 's sole Clark comrade deserted him for Edwards….

Many of the '04 Dems came up with big fat zeros in Huxley. None of the teams bond with John Kerry or Joe Lieberman for instance. And Howard Dean, who's made a mission of ruling the young, convinced only one of Mrs. B.’s kids, Travis.

Can you feel the momentum?

1. A funny reply to this post at the blog:
Youth For Edwards!!

The funniest part of the segment was what the lone Dean supporter said:

"Drugs. Dean wants to nail the dealers, and help the regular users."

I about fell out of my chair!!!!!

8. Making arguments for Edwards is about the easiest argument I've ever made.
I encourage everyone to try it.

It'll make you feel good.

18. He is probably a Dean supporter.
Edwards and Clark are my two favorite candidates. I hope one of them is our nominee. But I will support ABB.

3. Edwards definitely has
some momentum going for him in IA.

My wife said last night that she is really beginning to lean toward Edwards. She admitted that she'd feel a little better if he was older but she loves his personality. (note:policies are okay too but so are a lot of other dems)

15. Criminy, what's she want him to be?
70 maybe?? Kidding but honestly, the younger the leader of this country the better off we are as far as having him/her serve their term and possibly a dual term. Edwards is what? 54? I know, I couldn't believe it either. He looks a LOT younger than he is, and he's a helluva lot wiser than he looks.

Much love to John Edwards. I can;t support him because of specific policy differences in the Primary, but come the GE I'd vote for him wthout an instant's hesitation!

4 Dean a couple of weeks ago, I was surprised @ the number of caucus attending people supporting Edwards...not surprized they were...just that the whorporate media ignores him but he has firm support in Iowa.

10. Another Interesting Tidbit
Posted by Anonymous
03:41 PM -- Wednesday January 14 2004

I just talked to a Edwards Staffer. He was talking to a Government Teacher at a local rural high school. The teacher told him to wait until class started because he wanted to show him something. The Class was 30 Seniors. The teacher aked, "honestly, how many of you plan to caucus Monday?" 25 of the students raised their hands. Then he asked how many of them wer caucusing for Edwards, 23 of them raised their hands. One of the students is an Edwards precint chair!

Who has captured the youth?

13. I'd be shocked if he won Iowa.
If he comes in second in IA, second or third in NH, and first in SC, you should switch.
