ya know, I can't help but believe that if Gary Hart . . . |
|
were in this race, he'd be running away with it . . . or at least battling Dean tooth and nail for the lead . . . despite all the oohing and ahhing about our crop of candidates, the whole group still leaves me cold . . . we should be able to do better, imo . . .

3. Sorry to burst your bubble . . . |
|
But Gary Hart would fare about as well as George McGovern fared during the 1984 primaries. Come to think of it, Hart would have fared about as well as he fared in the 1988 primaries (everyone remembers him dropping out, but nobody seems to remeber him getting back in the race).

4. Hart backs Kerry's campaign |
|
October 01, 2003 The Denver Post By John Aloysius Farrell
Gary Hart endorsed Sen. John Kerry for president Tuesday, saying that the Massachusetts Democrat was the most qualified and best-prepared candidate in the race.
"We cannot afford on-the-job training," Hart said in a conference call with Kerry and reporters. "People should be prepared to be president before they run for president.
"Contrary to present experience," said Hart, in a knock at President Bush, "I think the nation is better served when a person enters the office having studied and prepared ... rather than fitting some personality profile and hoping that the president-elect will assemble a team of experts to advise him or her on what they should do."
Hart praised Kerry's experience in foreign policy, that he's serving his fourth term in the Senate and his military service in Vietnam.
"Being president uniquely means managing the fiscal affairs of the United States and therefore understanding the national budget and the priorities for that budget. It also means being head of state or chief diplomat for the United States. And finally it means being commander in chief of the military forces," Hart said. http://www.johnkerry.com/pressroom/clips/news_2003_1001c.html

6. I have always respected Hart |
|
He still is quite relevant. I enjoyed some recent interviews of him regarding terrorism and the comission he served on.

9. Actually, Dean is using Hart's campaign model |
|
Except Hart didn't have the internet. Hard would be doing very well if he could keep his schlong in his pants.
