Michael Moore Formally Supports Wesley Clark
Sorry if this is a dupe

I’ll Be Voting For Wesley Clark / Good-Bye Mr. Bush — by Michael Moore

Many of you have written to me in the past months asking, "Who are you going to vote for this year?"

I have decided to cast my vote in the primary for Wesley Clark. That's right, a peacenik is voting for a general. What a country!

I believe that Wesley Clark will end this war. He will make the rich pay their fair share of taxes. He will stand up for the rights of women, African Americans, and the working people of this country.

And he will cream George W. Bush.

1. It's a dupe of a thread that should be locked.
Neither, per Skinner's dictate, should be posted in GD.

5. This is not the GD forum!
This is politics and campaigns.

2. Why a Nader supporter is endorsing Clark...
...Moore was known as a Nader supporter, and now he's supporting Clark? The reason:

People who supported Nader got lectured over and over again that there *is* a difference between the pro-corporate Democratic Party and the pro-corporate Republican party. Nader fans got lectured for NOT voting for Bush-Lite Gore.

Some have decided to back pro-corporate Dean, "fiscally conservative", moderate and centrist, willing to put the environment in the back seat for business, and who wants to keep us in Iraq for years.

Moore figured, why not pro-corporate, "free trader" Clark - who not only will keep us in Iraq for years, but will give us a symbolic edge over the GOP?

For everyone who is paranoid that Clark is the undercover MIC candidate - first, he's hardly undercover, he's pretty open about it. And two, Dean's VP or Defense Secretary is going to be MIC as well.

If we are going to hold our nose and shovel shit ... let's not pretend otherwise.

As for me, I'm voting DK, and I would suggest everyone else do the same. There will be plenty of time to compromise after the primary...

3. Actually, it's been posted a bahgillion times
but I'll check in here to say that I don't think Moore's endorsement helps in the swing vote/independent area. Clark's big strength is his resume and strong military background. On the basis of that I can see a lot of McCain-type supporters being attracted to him, and Republicans who are disenchanted with Bush. But Moore is universally disliked on the right and this doesn't help him with those people at all.

At least that's my take.

4. He is my last choice. I truly hope he doesn't get the nomination
All I have to say is "School of the Americas". I will vote for him in the end if I have to only because I am ABB but I won't feel good about it.
