Howard Stern to have Dean on his show (maybe) |
|
Howard Stern is offering $10,000 to certain people who decide to become a guest on his show. On the list of people who he'd give $10,000 to, Howard Dean was one. Actually, he was the only Democratic candidate to be offered this chance.
Personally, I think it'd be great. He could speak to a HUGE audience, and he'd change Howard's misconceptions about the Iraq war and how 'great' a president Bush is.
If it weren't for the fact that we're hip-deep in caucases, he should do it. But right now, I don't think he should rock the boat.

1. For one thing, Stern can't give Dean $10,000 |
|
For another thing, Stern is an idiot who doesn't deserve to participate in this process.

Well, it technically goes to whoever can GET Dean to come on Howard's show, and Howard has just as much a right to join in the political process as anyone else. Howard Stern actually likes Dean, and is interested in what he has to say. Dean could win over lots of voters like Howard if he appears. At least he could move them away from Bush, and question his policies.
It's good news.

|
and he let's women who want to get naked or show themselves off come on maybe 3 or 4 times a month at most. It is NOT what takes up even close most of his show.
People just think that because they always put those segments on the E! show.

On the radio?? Are you really asking me that question?
Stern is a cypher. He has nothing to offer but entertainment. Entertainment is fine, but Sterm represents a mockery of political discourse in this country.
I'm not attacking what you listen to. Stern can do whatever he wants. But the list of reasons why no candidate should give him the time of say is long.

24. It makes no sense that Imus should and Stern shouldn't |
|
Imus is completely respected by the media and political elite, despite the fact that, unlike Howard, he's more or less a racism and homophobia lover.
Not only that, he wishes he was Howard Stern, and everything he has done format wise, is a crude imitation of Stern

I saw his show on E! In order to win a boob job, a girl ate a carrot stuck in the anus of one of those geeks that Howard has on. How will going on this show help Dean?

33. Right, his E! show, which as i've said, is only the most racy moments |
|
from his radio show. His fans know that.
I don't think going on his show would really help Dean, but I think it could help Clark, because I think Howard would be more impressed by a guy who was first in his class at West Point, a Rhodes Scholar, has 3 masters degrees, can speak 4 languages, saved a people in a war with no American casualties, and has risen from a poor beginning than Dean, who's background is almost identicle to Bush's, (and Stern has bashed Bush for being a silver-spoon kid).
That's not to say Dean wouldn't get a fair shake, as Howard has already given him, despite their disagreement on the war

Anyone notice anything they have in common?

Respect from Howard Stern?

Forgive me, I'd rather people listen to music or NPR. People buying into what RW talk show hosts AND Stern have to say is part of the problem with political discourse in this country.

I would have mixed feelings. Stern's program would give Dean a great deal of national exposure - especially to the younger generations of voters - but I'm not sure it's the type of exposure that Dean wants. Howard Stern, to say the least, is a polarizing media personality.
On one hand, Stern goes directly for the throat in interviews. He never messes around with softball or lead-up questions. Dean would be more than willing to answer the legit ones, and I think Stern would respect him greatly for it. On the other hand, Stern is also a proud gossip, and would certainly ask him many potentially-embarassing questions about sex, past embarassments of the Democrats, and the habits of the young people that partially make up his campaign (Stern has commented on the sub-culture of the Dean campaing before).
If I were an advisor to Dean, I'd advise him to decline. He has much to lose with comparitively little to gain.

8. You're misrepresenting what he said |
|
they were just throwing out names.
Howard said, "how about Howard Dean"
Robin then said "Yeah, lets get some presidential candidates"
They also wanted the reverend Al
Howard watches some of the debates but he doesn't know about the candidates too much
He said that he liked Kerry the best before, and when Robin brought up a story about John Edwards, Howard said he'd never heard of him, (even though he had watched debates).
But anyway it's not like he said that he only wanted Dean. I think Clark should go on his show

13. He actually had some kind words about Dean's wife today |
|
He read about her in the times, the new story about her not wanting to be involved in politics
He wasn't negative about her at all. He just thought it was an interesting story.
Artie asked if she was hot. And he said she was ok. He did not bring up her looks. Although he said he saw an old picture of her and she was "pretty cute". I think he likes jewish women anyway, because his girlfriend is jewish

he started talking about the news story that everyone else is talking about. He was very positive about the fact that she does her own thing, and stays out of politics.
Artie Lange asked her if she was hot. He's an honest guy and loves talking about attractive women, but that's not all he talks about

Stern people don't give a crap about the election. Howard Stern would ask him stupid questions like "Does your wife do anal?" or "When you went skiing, did you also pick up hot chicks?"...
It would like walking into a minefield.

He asks sex questions to people with wild, sexy, lives. Like Playmates or rockstars.
But when he's talking to people like Guliani, or Paul McCartney, or others, he has more mature conversations.

|
If you think Stern would not want to make some kind of headlines with an interview with Dean, you have some things to learn about him.
I haven't listened to Stern for over a year or so. Has he discussed the candidates at all? I'd imagine that it would make most listeners hit the button and move on to some other shock jock.
