California Attorney General Lockyer Endorses Dean
SAN JOSE--California Attorney General Bill Lockyer today endorsed Governor Howard Dean, M.D.

"Howard Dean offers the best assurance that Democrats can rescue America from George W. Bush, and move our country forward on the issues Americans trust Democrats to do best: job creation, education, the environment, workers' rights and health care," Lockyer said.

"Most important to me, Howard Dean tells the truth, and George Bush isn't leveling with the American people. I'm pleased to join the Dean campaign to take the White House back from an administration that kowtows to big business and ignores the hopes, dreams and needs of America's working families," Attorney General Lockyer added.

Bill Lockyer was first elected as Attorney General in 1998 and was re-elected in 2002. As California's highest-ranking law enforcement officer, Attorney General Lockyer has shifted the state's Department of Justice from purely prosecution to include a focus on homeland security intelligence and crime prevention, keeping California safer and stopping crime before it occurs. In addition, Lockyer has gone after businesses such as predatory lenders, deceptive credit card lenders, and living trust mills that seek to take advantage of California consumers.

He is the second statewide official in California to endorse Dean and joins nine members of Congress representing California who have endorsed as well.

As you slog though the snows of Iowa and New Hampshire, remember that presidential campaigns--especially primaries--are full of ups and downs. Stick to it in the face of media slings and arrows.

A veteran from the 92 campaign.

Jerry Brown
Oakland Mayor

hi. i am the first member of the house of representatives to endorse howard dean... and this week we passed a new marker... more members of congress have endorsed howard dean than any other candidate. Why? we like him and we also know he is our best chance to win the white house and also the house of representatives. i am here at the california democratic convention where dean delegates are everywhere! we will keep working hard. In two hours all the dean supporters are getting together with our cell phones to call Iowans to ask them to help our country by supporting howard dean on monday!

Zoe Lofgren

I'm thrilled to support Howard Dean for president. He is the candidate who has been standing up for all the core principles of our party so I wanted to stand with him. Good luck monday in Iowa and for the rest of the campaign. I'll do whatever I can do when you all get out here to California. Howard fights for us.

Kevin Shelley.
California Secretary of State.

8. VERY sickening
it wasn't just that he had a problem with davis . i would have had less a problem with him if he said he wanted a recall but wanted bustamante elected. but he specifically was for arnold. i'm disgusted by him.
