Using PayPal for political contributions
I've just launched my candidacy for City Council here in Vineland, NJ. I'm still in the formal signature-gathering, paper-filing stage, so my website is not yet ready to go up.

When it does, I want to include a PayPal button to allow people to donate to my campaign.

Does anyone on here have any experience using PayPal for this? What restrictions they place on it? (I can't find any restrictions in New Jersey's ELEC documents, but I'm wondering what PayPal would have to say about it.)

If PayPal isn't feasible (i.e.: They don't allow it), anyone know of other services I could use for the same thing?

1. Well, that's great!
Good luck in your campaign. Talk to God_bush_and_cheney (Andy Stevenson), who is running for Wash Sec'y of State. He has paypal on his web site I think.

2. Pay could work. It does get a little funny sometime.
Yahoo has Pay Direct. Do both. Also take a look at ProPay to be able to process credit cards directly. A lot of people don't do Paypal and even less do Yahoo.

One of the problems with Paypal is they sometimes get a bee in their bonnet and hold your account in limbo while they see if you are really you. This happens with large payments sometimes. I paid someone once and they held up his account for 3 weeks before he got tired of the hassel and had me demand my money back so I could pay him through Yahoo.

3. If you are
who I think you are. I don't know about paypal, but I really dig your radio show on WBCQ! Good Luck with your run!

4. Yes, I am
...who you think I am!

And thanks for the kind words about the WBCQ show.
