OK Senate: Carson Has 11-Pt. Edge in Independent Poll
A new independent poll released last week in the Sooner State showed Rep. Brad Carson (D) leading former Oklahoma City Mayor Kirk Humphreys (R) by 11 points in the race to succeed retiring Sen. Don Nickles (R).

Carson got 47 percent compared to Humphreys’ 36 percent in a hypothetical matchup. Both men are considered the frontrunners for their respective parties’ nominations. The poll, conducted by Consumer Logic for the Tulsa World, was taken Jan. 14-21.

3. Come on people,
where's the gloom-and-doom attitude? Why can't we complain about how we're going to lose everything in the Senate and House etc...

Seriously, we're kicking some ass nationwide. If our guy is ahead in OK, that's a great sign for other competitive races in less conservative states. Lets finish these jokers.

4. Brad Carson seems a good candidate for OK.
I can really see him winning there. My best wishes. He's pretty "centrist," with a sufficient populist streak to seem "in touch."

6. Iowa
Iowa may soon have a candidate to take on highly favored Sen. Grassley. She was the 1982 candidate for Governor, Roxanne Barton Conlin. She was co-chair of the Edwards' campaign in Iowa and former president of the American Trial Lawyers Assoc. She almost single- handedly got Vilsack elected Governor of Iowam (something he would admit). She is a cult hero to Iowa D's. She would give Grassley a competitive race and she could raise money from trial lawyers overnight to make this race competitive. Iowa should be a Democratic state for the presidential nominee this fall and therefore that makes the nomination all the more worth while. The biggest drawback is that as Finance Chair, Grassley brings home lots of money for Iowa. His seniority would be tough for many to vote against. But Roxanne may be the best shot we have here in the Hawkeye state.
