In 2000, it was Nader. It will be Nader again if he's there in Nov.

You should look into David Cobb's platform.
Either that, or Peter Camejo just might run on the Green ticket.
Camejo is impressive!

6. Welcome to DU. The answer is no. |

This isn't a good third party year.
Unless you know a conservative who would like to break free and offer his frightened friends an alternative? I'm sure many Republicans would be excited and happy to vote third party this year.
You know, that convention of theirs is going to be one dismal event.

and Ralph Nader is just being silly. The more people ask him not to run, the more determined he is to run run run. It's a shame he would run on a resentment platform when he could offer much more to the dialogue in another role.

13. it's not a matter of the candidate I want so much as... |
|
...the candidates I cannot support. "My candidate" is Dennis Kucinich. If Kucinich isn't nominated will I go third party? Quite possibly, but not because Kucinich wasn't nominated-- rather because candiates like John Kerry don't do it for me.

far too important an election -- yeah I'm no Kerry fan, just wait for a run-to-the-center if he gets the nomination -- still the world will be different and so much worse with more b*sh. B*sh will be mini-nukes in Syria, invading Iran, no more social security, debt debt debt and more corporate welfare than we can even imagine. . . The stakes are too great for third party campaigns. Vote for Nader or whomever only if you wish more of the same.

It depends on my evaluation of the primary. If I feel my candidate got fair, equal treatment and consideration, and that voters rejected him for a man they thought was better for the party platform, no.
If I feel disenfranchised by the process or the priorities, maybe.
Ask me in August. Then ask again in November. I'll have a better idea.

Kerry or Edwards may not be your idea of the perfect candidate (they aren't mine), but for the love of all you hold holy, either of these guys is light years ahead of Bush.
I voted for Nadar in 2000 only because I lived in a state (Virginia) that had ZERO chance of going for Gore. It was a protest vote to try and pull my party back to the left a little.
If you're green and/or ultra-liberal, it's mind-boggling to even consider splitting your vote away from the Democrat candidate. Your efforts would be better spent trying to reform the voting system so that third party candidates have a chance in the future (e.g. Instant voter run-off). Look at what Bush did when he lost the election. Imagine what he'd do if he had an actual plurality of votes!
My dog poops a more viable candidate twice a day than Bush.

I am convinced John Kerry represents all that is wrong with the democratic party and all that is unholy in Washington DC;the worst of all possible worlds only surpassed by *. A change that doesn't do or accomplish anything isn't really a change.
Due to the extremes the Kerry Kampaign went to , I feel it must be stopped for the goodof our country.

But I live in Texas, so my vote is 'wasted' on a 'loser' anyway. Bush WILL get 34 electoral college votes from the Lone Star State. The only times we see the Democratic nominees may be when they come down here to collect campaign contributions. They won't get any of my money: I know local Dems who need support. BTW, Kerry at the top of the ballot won't help any of them. I made a promise to "support" the Dem's presidential nominee, but enthusiasm ...? Not without Kucinich. And as for the rest of the Dem ballot in Texas in November, I already know of at least one Dem I won't support, so I'm not welcome without the required level of Party fanaticism. Maybe a lot of disappointed voters will cast a Green ballot somewhere on their ballot (Charlie Mauch, well-qualified and a nice guy, for Texas Railroad Commission?), since the Democratic Party hasn't, IMO, demonstrated sufficient mettle to merit slavish devotion.

24. It is possible, I reserve the right to vote for... |
|
..whoever I DAMN WELL PLEASE. It all depends on how my candidate gets treated during the nominating process. I am a Dennis Kucinich supporter and I have to say that his treatment in the media has been HORRIBLE. I know how Dean supporters feel, but at least Dean was considered to have a shot and at least got his name out there.
Now the media, even so-called "liberal" outlets, are portraying this as a two-person race between Kerry and Edwards and there is talk of excluding Kucinich (and Sharpton) from further debates. If this happens, I would have to say that my enthusiasm level would drop precipitously.
Maybe then I would go see what Ralph Nader was up to........
