Republicans are already spewing out filth against John Kerry. |
|
Got an e-mail from a right-winger here at work with the latest bile, claiming to be from a Vietnam vet calling Kerry a liar and much worse. I would rather not copy it here because it just made me angry.
I am furious that they would stoop so low as to personally savage someone who served his country in combat AND has the scars to show for it.
And of course, when I replied to all (as I usually do), calling this filth by its proper name - character assassination - what's the wingers' response? "Well yeah the Democrats do it plenty too."
ARRRRRGGGGHHH!

People like your co-worker will be easily deceived and manipulated.
This will be the dirtiest campaign in American history.

2. You should do a reply to all... |
|
...and rather bluntly say that how disgusted you are that someone would stoop to attacking a person who did his patriotic duty, went to Vietnam, won the Silver Star, and returned to exercise the very rights he fought for as an American.

5. That is exactly how I replied. |
|
And the response was literally, "the Democrats attack too".

3. They have been doing this for a few weeks now. |

They have been doing this for a few weeks now. The scheme works something like the following.
First, they tell you they want this election to be about the issues. Next, they say the AWOL story is just Democratic mudslinging. Following that, they say the AWOL story doesn't really matter anyway, because Bush has been at war for 3 years now, pranced around in that flight suit, served plastic turkey to the troops, and is a war hero.
Next, Kerry is congratulated for his service in Viet Nam. But immediately following, he is savaged as being weak on defense, and who knows, maybe even a traitor, given his debates about the size of budgets, for various weapon systems, and for being photo-shopped into a picture with Jane Fonda.
We are told these attacks are about the issues, which the dizzy Gillespie wants to stick to, and in no way constitute a personal attack.
If these guys were any more transparent they would be called the invisible men.

8. They have been doing it for 35 years now, starting in Nixon's white house. |

They tried to destroy Kerry then and really ramped it up during Kerry's investigations of BCCI, IranContra, and CIA drugrunning by the Reagan and Bush administrations. They even had the FBI do a thorough investigation of his every move at that time.
Nixon, Reagan and Bush1 all failed. Kerry endured. Bush2 will fail come November against Kerry.

It's disgusting. As to how far, I mean how low they will go we need only to look as far as Ann the man Coulter. Her recent remarks about Max Cleland were beyond despicable. I couldn't care less about her. The truth is she is someone to be pitied as she most certainly has mental problems. My question is, who among the Republicans has stood up and said how despicable her remarks were? I haven't heard although I have faith that McCain would not embrace them. What about the rest? Bush? Cheney? Chambliss? How vile is this bunch? Stay tuned.
