Nader INDEPENTDENT - Not GREEN?
I think this is because he really intends to take votes from the GOP this time...GOP swing voters wouldn't touch a "green" candidate with a 100 ft pole...but they may be comfortable with an "independent."

1. Yes, but perception is reality and he is perceived as a green.
and what the greens stand for. I have a hard time with the notion that repugs will vote for him and he will take votes away from the chimp.

2. No, it's because state Green organizations
have told him to take a hike.

He's pretending this was his choice. It wasn't.

3. Indies
The Ind party wont take votes away from the GOP if Nader is the nominee.

What may happen is conservatives voting for an Indie candidate may reject Nader and he may get thrown out on his flower power rear.

Which reminds me. Trees are our friends (I'm an ecologist, but I hate Nader!)

4. Aren't 'independent' and 'party' mutually exclusive?
Or are you under the impression that there is an "Independent Party".

There are various state party organizations using the name or a variant.
California's American Indepedent Party and Minn. Independence Party (Ventura) and a national organization called the Independent American Party.

But Nader is associated with none of those. Apparently the Minnesota party has said they will help Nader get on the ballot there if he can qualify but thats about it.

Is Nader a former hippie or something? What is with the flower-power reference?

And finally, are you for real? :-)
