MoveOn Jumps Into Battle Over Super-Delegates
By Greg Sargent - February 14, 2008, 11:36AM

In a sign that the spin wars over the super-delegates are starting to heat up in a big way, MoveOn has just jumped into the fight, sending out a mass email asking supporters to sign a petition urging super-delegates to back whoever wins the popular vote.

"The superdelegates are under lots of pressure right now to come out for one candidate or the other," reads the petition from MoveOn, which has endorsed Obama. "We urgently need to encourage them to let the voters decide between Clinton and Obama -- and then to support the will of the people."

MoveOn says that if they get 200,000 signatures this week, they'll publish the petition as an ad in USA Today.

5. I doubt that; there's now a 3-post limit in GD/P (for a 24-hr. period).
Moving posts would be cheating.

9. Hi, Mom, and thanks.
I'm not liking this new rule at all, especially for people who just want to post news. Oh well...

3. Obama or nobody
This election is a "Hot Potato" election. The Republicans don't want to win it, but they fear a truly progressive Democratic runner for President. For fear of jail and worse; The rich elite promptly losing all their "Welfare" of tax cuts, illegal favoritism deals and tax payouts to move jobs overseas.

Therefore, they want Hillary to win, because all she'll do is raise taxes on the middle class and poor to pay the interest on the debts Dubya ran up. And the blame for the disaster, the new Great depression and whatever else happens will fall on the Democratic party.

I say vote for Obama. If he isn't selected as the front runner, go to NADER. Serious. Obama's winning like by 100-200=% of Hillary's votes of most local races? By contrast, the Republicans 'win' in like 34, 33, 22 type margins since they vote against who they hate, versus voting for who they like.

It'll be pretty lousy, but at least the Republicans will take the blame for the mess they made of this country. And all the Obama supporters voting for Nader (Green Party) will create a third political party, breaking this disastrous two-party system.

6. MoveOn should be urging Florida and Michigan voters be counted then.
Funny, how these voters are being ignored. Hillary is ahead in the popular vote when these states are counted. The people spoke, but nobody is listening.

8. It's funny how
that now HRC is falling that you want to count florida and michigan

snip//

What a joke. The candidates agreed not to campaign there, and agreed that the delegates would not be seated. Now, of course, the Clinton partisans want those delegates to count, even though they were banana republic-style elections - no campaigning, and in the case of Michigan, not even anyone other than Clinton and Kucinich on the ballot.

11. Especially Michigan
Nothing like a hollow victory, is there? Kinda hard to lose when you're the only major candidate on the ballot!
