Report: On Easter Sunday, Obama will be on St. Thomas, not at United Church of Christ in Chicago
ABC News: SNEAK PEEK: Obama: Beach Bound?
'08er Skips Easter at Wright's Church
By TEDDY DAVIS and TALAL AL-KHATIB
March 21, 2008

....Obama's allies are hoping the focus will stay off of Wright this Easter Sunday when the Democratic frontrunner skips services at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago and heads on vacation.

Per ABC News' Sunlen Miller, sources familiar with Obama's plans say the Illinois Democrat is expected to go on a tropical vacation with the most likely bet appearing to be St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Obama, whose campaign will not confirm his plans, is expected to leave Chicago on Sunday morning and will return either on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

His next campaign stop will be Wednesday in Greensboro, N.C.

If he goes to the Virgin Islands, Obama can thank the islanders for providing him with an 84-point margin of victory over Hillary Clinton in the territory's Feb. 9th caucuses. Only 1,921 Virgin Islanders attended the Democratic caucuses. But thanks to his lopsided win, Obama netted three delegates.

While three delegates may not seem significant in a Democratic race where 2,024 delegates are needed to clinch the nomination, it's worth taking a moment to channel your inner David Plouffe. According to ABC's pledged-delegate estimate, Obama netted more delegates in the Virgin Islands than Clinton did from her "wins" in New Hampshire, Michigan, Nevada, Florida, New Mexico, and American Samoa C-O-M-B-I-N-E-D.

2. But why isn't he going to church? I thought he was a big Christian and
tomorrow is a huge day in Christianity - the biggest.

3. If you're on a tropical island named after a saint
that counts as going to church.

6. If you thought I, as OP, was criticizing Obama for maybe not going to church --
that thought didn't cross my mind. The gist of the piece I posted was about getting, and keeping, the focus off of Wright, not about going, or not going, to services:

"Obama's allies are hoping the focus will stay off of Wright this Easter Sunday."
