Can we hit the idiots over the head with Arnold = Streisand? |
|
Face it, Democratic candidates/legislators are bashed for being enamored by Hollywood celebrities.
Republicans elect them (Reagan, Gopher, Sonny & Mar Bono, etc).
How is it different with Ahnuld as compared to Barbara Streisand.
I think that whenever somebody talks about Ahnuld, we should refer to him as Babs or the GOP Streisand.

I've always been a bit distressed by the selective use by the rethuglicans of their "high Morals" :puke: . One example is bob dole condemning Bill Clinton's lack of military service, but supporting dan quayle for VP.
There is also newt voting for impeachment of Clinton for oral sex when he used to insist on blow jobs so he could say that he hadn't had sex if questioned under oath:wow:
Now, we have ahh-nald running for governor since the rethuglecans don't like that they lost. I've seen his bare behind more than I'd like, he kills about 9,000,000 people in all of his action movies and made his wife do a striptease in "True Lies" (remember, this was bob dole's perfect family movie) :spank: I also remember a few years ago that he didn't run because of questions about an affair:nopity:
Hollywood filth factory? I guess only when there's a "D" after the name.
Any D over any r in '04 (or '03):bounce:

2. We need to be more concerned about him. |

I think the members of the Democratic Party are kidding themselves about his threat. The average American is stupid. Even Democrts don't know where their own candiates stand. The average American idiot will vote based on name-recognition and they won't check out the facts.

4. Yes - this is too serious to just engage in tit-for-tat celeb bashing. |

I think it is unwise to misunderestimate this as the next BFEE coup.
I'm a Californian and I hate it that the rest of the world can laugh at us.
Texas and Florida can laugh at us. The irony is sickening.

I don't think that as many Americans are stupid as you do, but there are enough out there to do a lot of harm. Fro example, did the majority of citizens of Minnesota REALLY want a bad guy wrestler as their governor?:wow:

Janeane Garafalo always used to point out that conservative celebrities were never given the "elite" treatment during the build up to war.

Let the comedians do what they do best and I can't believe they'd let this opportunity go by. Bustamante and Davis have intelligent things to say (I hope), they don't need to go down that path. But every other pundit, comedian or anyone who can get airtime should make a huge joke of the Republicans. 'They tell you Hollywood has no credentials to speak on public policy, then they go nominate the biggest name in Hollywood for Governor!!!' Smear them with it, that's what I say.
