do you know if you actually have to sign up to go to the meetup events or if you can just show up without signing on to it ? i have not signed up for it, but am thinking of maybe checking it out but don 't really want to sign up for it since i might change my mind. also, is it better if you attend ones with large gatherings or smaller ones ? and what time are they and how long do they last ?

Go to whatever Meetups you want. There is no hard commitments at any phase of the game. You don't need to go, you don't need to sign anything, you don't have to volunteer for anything. If you sign up for Meetup, they don't check off your name on a list or anything.
You are exactly as committed as you wish to be. And you are always free to change your mind. But your first male child belongs to the candidate you sign up for. Other than that, your free to do as you please.

2. The only reason they ask people to sign up |

is to help determine the size of the venues needed. Everybody's welcome. If you want, just pop your head in for a minute and see if you want to stay. Lots of people do that.
