Strong Showing for General Clark in Texas Straw Poll
For what it's worth:

http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=112-09022003

Excerpt:

Presumptive presidential candidate General Wesley Clark finished a strong second in a Texas Labor Day straw poll sponsored by the Dallas County Democratic Party. General Clark, who is expected to announce plans to run for president this week, out polled eight of the nine announced candidates, finishing a strong second to Howard Dean.

"General Clark is tailor-made for Texas." said John Oeffinger, Texas State Director of Draft Clark 2004. "His record of military service combined with his grasp of domestic issues makes him someone who would receive support from Democrats, Republicans, and Independents."

Clark received 107 votes; more than double that of third place finisher Senator John Kerry. Howard Dean finished first in the straw poll. "This demonstrates the kind of support that General Clark will get all over the nation," said Michael K. Frisby, a veteran media strategist and the communications director for DraftClark2004.com campaign. "The people of Texas see the same qualities that other voters will see in General Clark: A leader who will restore faith in our government. Faith that the economy will recover and create jobs, and faith that American lives will only be put in harm's way for the security of our nation."

1. I wonder what Dean's vote was?
The article did not say. Anybody from Texas know the score?

2. The obvious reason why the "article" didn't say that is
...that it's not an article but a press release from the non-candidate. :eyes:
