Will Pitt and PeteNYC's ideas...MUST READ!!!
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=266439&mesg_id=266439

Here's the news: Dean or Kerry is going to get the nomination, with an outsider chance to Clark that (I think) gets better the more I think about it. Regardless, one of these guys is going to be the Man. Into that person will be poured, literally, all our hopes and all our sweat and all our prayers and the last, best home we've got to stop the bleeding that is killing this country.

We are going to have to work together. You are making that, every day, more of an impossibility, and that is a national suicide ride you are taking me personally along on.

I think people being passionate about candidates is a great good thing...actually, I think it is a mortal requirement considering what is at stake.

But this bullshit has got to stop.

Do something. Do anything.

Make this stop.

am extending a hand in friendship to every single DUer I've argued with about Dean or Kerry.

I ask only this: no matter how much you dislike one or the other candidate, please refrain from using derogatory terms such as 'liar', 'hypocrite', 'sell-out', 'Bushlite', 'worthless', etc.

For the sake of unity and friendship, if your heart says "what a fucked up, pathetic, loser, hypocrite candidate", let your words say "I don't believe so-and-so candidate is the best choice for our party".

Let's stop giving ammo to the bloodsuckers and constitution-haters on the right.

1. Why?
Seriously, what is with all the whining and agony over a little message board conflict?

2. Because...
...it's no longer "a little" message conflict. There's people quoting freepers as gospel, for crying out loud. When we become THAT, it's over.

5. False
When we become like freepers is when we are unable to take hearing a contrary opinion. Sometimes saying the same thing as them is nothing compared to becoming so closed off that we ACT like them. Are we really so insecure that it actually bothers us to hear "your candidate sucks ass?"

Who cares anyway? If that bothers you, I recommend you lock yourself in a small room with no windows and hide from the world (you in this instance is used as a general term not as a personal pronoun).

7. I completely agree.
We're dissenters. Allow some dissent. I'm tired of the "We must all get along" threads. Bullshit. "We must all think for ourselves." Ahhhh, I feel better.

11. It's not a matter of hearing a contrary opinion or dissention...
I get really tired of folks that make disparaging remarks about a candidate's position on an issue or reference a statement made by or about a candidate without any link so we can all judge for ourselves.

We can and must constructively debate the merits of a candidate on the issues and stop tearing them apart based on superficial criteria. And I'm no prude and the language doesn't bother me but think of how it looks from the outside looking in. DU is gaining lots of publicity itself so there are folks looking in.

Also consider, if you are an ABB then tearing down any other candidate needlessly can and will come back to haunt you when we come down to the general. Your words will come back to bite us all in the ass.

Peace~
Monica

6. I'm with all of you.
Like I told Will in his thread, I didn't like what I read when I saw my own replies to baiting posts. I quit, flat don't want anymore part of that. I'll defend but I'm done with venom.

9. the message is a good one but lets not dismiss
the other candidates such as Gep, Edwards, Kucinich, ect as having no chance to win.

statement that you quoted. That Dean or Kerry is going to win the nomination.

I could be wrong but that's how I read it, in context with everything.

*on edit: fixed typo
