I am sad to say I have changed my mind about whom to support for president
I have been supporting Howard Dean since February, and I still greatly respect him and think that he would make a wonderful president. However, this president has been a disaster for this country, and since I cannot even comprehend the devastation that would result from four more years, I have decided that we must support the candidate who has the best chance of winning, not the candidate we like the best. Therefore, I have decided I must throw my support behind the Democrat who stands the best chance of beating Bush: "Generic Democrat."

According to a new poll by Scott Rasmussen, "Generic Democrat" is tied with Bush 42-42, whereas all the specific contenders and non-contenders mentioned (why do they insist on continuing to harp on the prospect of Hilary Clinton running for president when she has said unequivocally that she is NOT RUNNING?) continue to lose to Bush by more than 10 points. Therefore, "Generic Democrat" appears to have the best shot at beating Bush, and that is whom I will throw my support behind.

But you can still buy my Dean stuff:

14. Kerry is more electable?
You think the Mass. liberal is going to sell better to swing voters than the Vermont liberal? Perhaps Kerry's identical support for civil unions will discern him from Dean. Maybe Kerry's more aggressive gun control stance will help him in the South. Or, what about Kerry's far superior oratorical skills, compared to Dean (not sarcasm).

Edwards may be more electable than Dean... Clark probably is... and a good argument can be made that Gephardt is. But, there is NO WAY that Kerry is more electable than Howard Dean.

And in case anyone else is wondering, yes, I was kidding. I am still a Dean supporter, tried and true! Just got back from meetup and am trying to get as many American University students as possible to go to see him in College Park, MD on Monday night.

And yes, I am still selling t-shirts and other stuff:

I agree. "Generic Democrat" is the only candidate that has not expressed a single opinion that I disagree with!

13. new repug thug tactics
I read recently that those repugnant pugs the republicans have a despicable plan to throw a monkey wrench in our plans.

They are planning to divide the democratic party by watching who floats to the surface over the next few months. Then, they are going to pump $$millions$$ into a less popular contender, like maybe Lieberman, just to divide the party and break it into fractions.

They are planning to hang on with their greasy fingernails, so expect to see something like that in the next few months: a down-and-outer suddenly appears out of nowhere to create havoc.

So unapologetic is probably right.
