Interview with Mrs. Dean
It's a 2 part interview:

http://www.publicbroadcasting.net/vpr/news/news.newsmain?action=article&ARTICLE_ID=540619

It's pretty neat that she is down to earth, not trying to 'play the part' of a governor's wife. She's not jazzy, or just trying to say the right/smart thing. Her candor is impressive.

In part 2, she makes a great statement. When pressed about how her role as a independent working woman, who isn't following Dean on the campaign trail she replied that it's great that her husband supports and respects her so much that he wants her to do what she wants to do. So refreshing!

I definitely got the impression that despite being the governor for 11 years, Howard and Judy are still a down to earth people.

1. She sounds so normal
(Whatever that is)- but not studied- without pretense is what I mean.

Feels a responsibility to her patients, staff, partners- will go with him when he asks.

Thinks he looked great on the magazine covers- with a big grin in her voice. His success doesn't surprise her.

Her patients support him- she visits an older woman in a nursing home who wears the Dean tees.

I'm not through it yet but she is a new kind of independent candidates wife- I worried about it but it seems so normal- she says he still fixes things around the house and jokes that the family is "too busy to give him special treatment".

I was really glad to come across this. Thanks :hi:

2. glad ya liked it
It certainly gives some insight into both her and her husband. She seems like someone it would be easy to have a cup of coffee with.

4. If Dean wins, I'll be honored to have her as First Lady!
It's about time we got another real woman in the White House!

Maybe change one of those ridiculous parlors into her physician's office

Yeah, I'd be thrilled. She reminds me of my mom- in a great way!
