1. Damn, I wish I could've been there!!!!
Dr., I never asked why is your avatar Sharpton? I like Al too, but you're obviously a Kerry guy...

6. Because Sharpton Doesn't Take Any Sass
The guy needs to have his own liberal talk show! I'd watch it every day!

Put him and Chris Rock together. That would be the best show on TV!

4. They're great-
even powerful pictures. Now, I'm going to give in to an itch. After Dean's campaign announced that there were 15,000 in Seattle, Kerry supporters went off about how there were only 8,000, going so far as to accuse the Dean campaign of being liars. I read today in ABC's The Note, that police estimates for Kerry's Faneuil Hall rally was 2,000 to 4,000. The Globe also went with that estimate. What I'm trying to point out here is that crowd estimates are extremely difficult to make. Anyway, whatever the number, it looks like an energized enthusiastic crowd. More power to any of our candidates for engendering this type of response.

27. Did they exaggerate?
Like in System of a Down's video, were those numbers inaccurate?

9. I am curious about this as well
It looks like a good crowd no matter what. However i took a look at kerry's blog today and inside of it I found someone saying the exact same thing that the police estimated the crowd at 4000. I have been unable to find any reports so far on the actual numbers so I have no idea which estimate is true.

However it was a good showing judging by the pictures. No matter what the real number was it was still a good crowd.

16. I believe
that the figure 15,000 also included people who watched it on television.

12. Thanks for the pics, Dr. Funkenstein.
I would have loved to have been there--even though I watched it on his web site.

Did you see Kerry stand up to Judy Woodruff again today? I am so sick of the wimp ass CNN pundits trying to "take down" Democrats while they cower in front of any and every Repug! Judy looked ashen that he dared to confront her on the accuracy of her question.

I wrote her an email and chastised her for not showing his first campaign ad--told her it was a glaring omission and demanded an explanation.

They showed Dean's repeatedly. So did MSNBC.

17. Swept you off your feet huh?
Gave you the vapors? Left you breathless? kidding.

Are you one of those people who roll with it or are you like me... thinking you'd almost rather nobody noticed instead of being carted out amidst the gawking crowd? I would be crying!

Glad you're okay. I guess it was just a case of lack of oxygen, or whatever happens to people in crowded situations like that???

But I was also so dizzy I just wanted to get out of the crowd.

Everyone was very nice. The first person to help me kept saying "We're all Democrats; we'll take care of you."

20. Numbers
Depends on who you ask. The Globe estimated 4,000 to 5,000. The Herald said 14,000, which I doubt. We were off to the right and we didn't have any problem getting through the crowd at the end to go home.

One of the advantages (for those unfamiliar with Boston) is that there is an excellent transportation system, and most people took public transit to the event. It made for much faster and efficient dispersion afterward.
