Kerry Calls for Support for Families Struggling with Health Care Costs

Kerry Plan Would Address Rising Costs

John Kerry said, “Today’s New York Times report (see below) about increasing health care costs is another reminder that middle class families are being hit from all sides under Bush the economy.  Families are struggling with health care premiums often climbing ten times more than their wages are increasing. That’s no way to get ahead in America.  We have to reduce the number of uninsured in America and we need to help middle class families cope with skyrocketing premiums.  I have proposed a health care plan that tackles both those challenges by relieving the burden of the rising cost of health care in America while increasing access to health care for all Americans.   Democrats need to keep faith with middle class families by addressing health care costs, protecting the expansion of the child tax credit and the relief of the marriage penalty, and we need to make college more affordable instead of balancing the budget on the backs of the middle class.”
