Zogby- Americans Support Balance in Mideast (re Howard, Joe, John)
Kerry, Lieberman Caught Pandering on Mideast, Polling Indicates Americans Support Balance

snip>

Dr. James Zogby, President of the Arab American Institute, responded “Polling shows that while the American people support Israel, three-quarters want the Administration to be balanced and ‘steer a middle course’ in order to achieve peace. Our polling also shows that American Jews and Arab Americans also want evenhandedness. In this context, therefore, Dean is right and the pandering comments of Kerry and Lieberman are just plain wrong.”

1. Is Zogby working for Dean?
Edited on Thu Sep-11-03 06:35 PM by blm
Because Kerry's comments were not specific, he was baiting Dean to clarify his remarks because Dean has been all over the place on his Israel policy.

Plus, Dean already backed down from his evenhanded remark, and said he shouldn't have said that.

Pandering is saying you should be evenhanded in public and put forth a policy that INCREASES military aid for Israel and tells Palestine that their state must be demilitarized.

2. Zogby leans Republican. But more importantly, he is
pandering to Arab-Americans. Check that bogus, biased headline.

4. That explains the bias. If Zogby wants Republicans..
Then he wants Dean to ber the nominee...

Kerry's policy statement on on Israel/Palestine is FAR more comprehensive and balanced than anything Dean has come up with. and he made it within weeks of deciding to run.

6. technically
he said he didn't realize that "even-handed" was such a loaded term, so her said that maybe he should have chosen a different word instead. but, he stood behind his comments.

3. I should hope Americans want "even handedness"..
But I'm pleasantly surprised that they do!

Only because of certain polls saying the majority believed Iraq and 9/11 were connected!

And other polls that show Americans as uniformed.
