It is a jab at Sharpton's ability to raise a large number of people to protest. It isn't implying organized crime, though.

In 1991, Sharpton mobilized hundreds of demonstrators in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, following a traffic accident where a young black child was killed by a vehicle driven by a Hasidic jew. Sharpton's mob went on a rampage, leading to the stabbing death of rabbinical student Yankel Rosenbaum.

In 1995, Sharpton organized protests outside Freddy's Fashion Market, a Jewish owned business in Harlem. One of the protestors entered the store, shot the employees, and torched the building, killing seven people.

The reference is perfectly legitimate, given Sharpton's disgraceful history!
