Why does gephardt miss 90% of the votes in the House
note: this is not an attack. I am merely curious as to why. If this statistic is innacurate please tell me.

Peace:bounce:

1. I dunno...
He hasn't paid attention to the fact that he is running for President and that's the kind of thing that will come back and bite you in the ass eventually??

I can really understand missing some votes while you are campaigning (Yes, I know that Dennis Kucinich has never missed a vote. But he is running for sainthood, everybody else just wants to be President), but it seems to me that with as much attention as Gephardt's lack of attendance as drawn, he would show up a bit more.

What is he doing anyway??

7. They pulled a fast one and voted in the evening during the debate.
Kucinich is doing great with this sneak vote being the only one he's missed.

6. Gosh, he has more important things to do than waste his time governing.
I mean there is only so much time in the day.

From 9 - 1:00, he has to criticize Howard Dean and then the rest of the time is spent networking with Nancy Pelosi on how to win the candidacy on any other premace than actually representing the people and doing his job.

He also needs to think up some creative reasoning why he seems to have two faces.

Perhaps this sarchastic, biting criticism is too much, but at this point I believe both Pelosi and Gephardt deserve it. From their actions, it seems pretty apparent they have become too immersed in their own political agendas to see the harm that they are doing to the Democratic party.

Gephardt has some good qualities, but he is deluding himself if he actually believes he should be President of the United States after essentially being asked to resign as House Minority leader, because of his LACK of leadership. If he couldn't lead with conviction and stand up for the Democrats in the House, then how in the world does he rationalize he could actually be president?

If Gephardts talk matched his actions, then I would be more confident in his candidacy and his capability in being our president.

8. The Dean people can't talk. Dean skipped out on his last year as governor
I'm sure you've seen the Harris comparison sheet and other sources posted on the Democratic Underground mentioning this. If anyone has been reading the DU, they also know that Dean sealed the records. I guess he didn't want anyone to notice how many days he didn't govern.

11. No he didn't
and yet again no link. He missed around 100 days in Vermont, most of which weren't days the government was in session. By comparison, there have been well over 50 days so far this year on which no House votes have been cast and still Gephardt has missed so many. And I do want a link. Hint it will start www.

9. It isn't that he couldn't lead
He had been the Minority Leader for 8 years and it was time for change. Whatever he was doing wasn't working and there needed to be a new leader with new ideas that could try to take back the speaker's gavel.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about with Pelosi. I don't see why you hate her so much other than that she supports somebody who isn't you prefered candidate. Nobody has even given her a chance and that is unfair.
