TEXANS, vote or we all die
Okay, a little drama to try and get you in.

Just wanted to remind all Texans to vote tomorrow (13 September) on the 22 proposed constitutional amendments.

One of these in Prop 12 which would give the legislature the right to determine damages in civil lawsuits against doctors and health care providers. Please vote no on this one. Do we really want the repug party (or any elected official) deciding how much an HMO should pay when they screw up?

My other favorite is Prop 8, which would allow a person to take office without an election if the person is the only candidate to qualify in an election for that office. You don't think this measure would be abused do you? It is odd that in a democracy that we would get rid of elections. Then again, we are living in a republican "democracy." I mean, even Saddam had an election.

For a good analysis of the 22 proposals on the ballot, look here:

Enjoy voting.

Ps what do you think the voter turnout will be? I say 14%.

1. 14%?
I think that's not a bad guess. In Travis County so far it's not terrible, but certainly low as expected.

The Republicans would do fine if it weren't for those pesky voters.

On edit: spelling
